Sure! The treatment will occur while you lie comfortably in a recliner. A total of 5 needles will be placed in your body. Two in each ear and one on your right leg below the knee. The needles will be left in place for 20-25 minutes. ATTENTION: there will be no formal intake of your condition. This event is to serve as general stress management and bring awareness to the medicine. You will also be required to sign an informed consent form giving us permission to perform acupuncture on you. Of course I will answer questions you may have about oriental medicine but I will not go into detailed intake of your condition. This is done to protect your health information and to observe time management during event.
Absolutely! the mini-treatments will be done in pairs so bringing a friend is ideal that way you can both share the same healing space. Remember, whether you come alone or with a friend it is best to schedule your treatment ahead of time!
Where will the money from my suggested donation go?
Blair County Acupuncture acknowledges that one of the biggest barriers keeping acupuncturists from sharing our medicine with you is affordability. Some health insurance companies are beginning to come around and are covering acupuncture services, but most still don't. To bridge the gap between those who can afford out of pocket acupuncture care and those who can't, our clinic is fundraising to add a group acupuncture room to our current treatment space. Depending on how fundraising efforts go we plan on opening this group acupuncture room in the early part of 2015!
We will have a display with information on our fundraising project on AOM day. We hope you will support us!
