EXPERIENCE Arela completed her clinical training at PCOM's resident clinic in New York City as a senior intern. She worked with several supervisors of numerous specialties to obtain a well rounded experience towards her diagnostic skills. These included: women's health, auto immune disease, pain management, orthopedic assessment, and emotional health. Furthermore, during her studies at PCOM she served the women in the Hudson community area in pregnancy, labor, and beyond through her independent doula work and via the Hudson Community Doula Program.
Arela is the founder of Blair County Acupuncture. Through her practice she hopes to devote herself to her life's work by providing a safe, affordable, and accessible place for Blair county residents to work towards their health goals. She plans to meet you where ever you are in your health journey, to offer honest, caring, non-judgmental guidance for you and hopefully even your loved ones.
PERSONAL STORY Arela earned a bachelor of arts in literature with a concentration in pre-medical studies from Stockton University in Pomona, NJ. Which means she sat in organic chemistry class in the mornings and Shakespeare class in the evenings. Afterwards, she moved to New York City to further deepen her love of storytelling through acting. While pursuing her acting endeavors she was introduced to acupuncture as a means of wellness care during performances and to treat her asthma. The combination of acupuncture, herbal medicine, and storytelling gave her direct experience with what the power of balancing the mind, body, and spirit can do for respiratory disease and emotional well-being. The vibrancy of health she felt made certain that she would always pursue an integrative approach to healing. Sharing her knowledge with others is a natural progression.
